Frequently Asked Questions

Planning a tour, transfer or island experience? Here are answers to the questions guests ask us most often.

Planning your experience

How do I book a tour or experience?

You can contact us directly with the experience you are interested in, your preferred date, number of guests and where you are staying.

For experiences operated by one of our local partners, we will check availability with the provider before confirming your booking.

What happens after I send a request?

We review your request and contact you to confirm the details. Where necessary, we also check availability with the relevant activity provider.

Once everything is available, we confirm the booking details, price, payment arrangements and any important information you need for the day.

Can I book at short notice?

Yes. We will always try to accommodate short-notice bookings when drivers, guides or activity providers are available.

Popular activities and busy cruise-ship days can fill up quickly, so earlier booking gives you more choice.

When is my booking confirmed?

Your booking is confirmed once we have confirmed the service, date, price and any applicable payment arrangements with you.

Some activities operated by third-party providers may require a deposit or full advance payment before they can be secured.

How quickly will you reply?

We normally respond as soon as possible and often within the same day. Response times can vary when we are out operating tours, transfers or working with guests around the island.

Prices, deposits and payment

Do I need to pay a deposit?

It depends on the booking.

There is no single deposit amount for every service. Depending on the tour, activity, total booking value and circumstances, we may request a deposit, require advance payment or agree another arrangement with you.

We will tell you the applicable payment conditions before your booking is confirmed.

How can I pay?

PayPal is currently our main option for advance payments. For services operated directly by On My Way Tours, remaining balances can usually be paid by cash or PayPal on the day, unless we have agreed otherwise.

Cash payments can be made in US dollars or Eastern Caribbean dollars.

Do third-party activities have different payment rules?

Yes. Activities operated by independent providers are subject to that provider's payment and cancellation conditions.

Some activities require full payment in advance and some may become non-refundable once confirmed.

We will explain the applicable conditions before completing the booking.

Are there hidden fees?

We tell you what your quoted price includes before you book. If entrance fees, transportation, taxes or other costs are not included, we will make that clear.

Some third-party booking or payment services may charge their own fees. Where relevant to your booking, we will explain this before confirmation.

Your day in Antigua

Can I customise a tour?

Yes. Many of our private tours can be adapted around your interests, available time and the places you would most like to see.

Want more beach time, fewer sightseeing stops, a restaurant visit or something completely different? Tell us when you contact us and we will see what works.

What is included in the price?

This depends on the individual experience.

Each tour or activity can include different transportation, entrance fees, refreshments, equipment or other services. We confirm the relevant inclusions with you before booking.

Can prices change?

Prices can change before a booking is confirmed, particularly for activities operated by third-party providers.

This is more likely with bookings made far in advance. Once we prepare your booking, we confirm the current price with you before you commit.

Can an itinerary change?

Yes. Weather, sea conditions, road conditions, attraction opening times or operational circumstances can occasionally require changes.

This is particularly relevant to boat tours, water activities, outdoor events and experiences such as Shirley Heights.

If an important change affects your booking, we will let you know as soon as reasonably possible and discuss alternatives where available.

What happens if On My Way Tours cancels my tour?

For a service operated directly by On My Way Tours, we will first try to offer another suitable date where possible.

If another date is not possible or suitable, payments already made to us for that service will be refunded.

Third-party activities are subject to the individual provider's cancellation and refund rules.

Getting around Antigua

Where will you pick me up?

Pickup depends on the service and can usually be arranged from your hotel, resort, villa, other accommodation, cruise port, airport or an agreed meeting point.

We confirm the exact pickup arrangements with you before the service.

What is a chauffeur service?

Our chauffeur service gives you a private driver for an agreed period of time rather than a single transfer from one point to another.

It is suitable for guests who want flexible transportation during the day, an evening out, business travel, events, shopping, restaurants or simply the freedom to move around Antigua without driving themselves.

Do you provide airport transfers?

Yes. We provide private transportation between V.C. Bird International Airport and hotels, resorts, villas and other accommodation across Antigua.

Airport transfers are arranged around your flight and accommodation details.

Can you transport larger groups?

Yes. We can arrange transportation for individuals, couples, families and larger groups.

Vehicle arrangements depend on the number of passengers, luggage requirements and type of service requested.

Visiting Antigua by cruise ship

Can cruise passengers book with you?

Yes. Many of our Antigua-based tours and activities are suitable for cruise guests.

When contacting us, please tell us your ship name, arrival date and scheduled departure or all-aboard time so we can plan the day appropriately.

Where do you meet cruise passengers?

Meeting arrangements depend on the tour or activity. We will send you clear instructions before your arrival, including the meeting point and agreed time.

Do you recommend Barbuda for cruise guests?

No. We do not recommend a Barbuda day trip for cruise ship passengers.

Transportation between Antigua and Barbuda is highly dependent on weather and can be delayed or cancelled at short notice. Guests staying in Antigua for several days can often move the experience to another day, while cruise guests only have one port day.

There is also no guarantee that independently arranged transportation from Barbuda will return before a cruise ship departs. We therefore recommend an Antigua-based experience instead.

Mobility and individual needs

Can you accommodate guests with mobility needs?

In many cases, yes.

Accessibility varies considerably between vehicles, attractions, beaches, docks and activity providers, so please contact us before booking and tell us what assistance is required.

We can then check which experiences and transportation options are realistically suitable rather than promising something that does not work once you arrive.

Can you accommodate a wheelchair?

We can arrange some land transportation for guests travelling with a wheelchair, depending on the type of wheelchair, mobility of the guest and vehicle available.

Our standard vehicles are not wheelchair-accessible vehicles with a built-in lift or ramp.

Boat tours and water activities require additional checking because many operators board directly from beaches rather than accessible docks.

Please contact us before booking so we can discuss the specific requirements and available options.

Before you head out

What should I bring on a tour?

For most experiences we recommend comfortable clothing, sun protection and suitable footwear.

For beach, snorkeling or boat experiences, bring swimwear and anything else you personally need for time in the water.

It is also useful to carry some cash for small purchases, food, drinks, tips or personal expenses because card payment is not available everywhere in Antigua.

If your particular experience requires special equipment or clothing, we will tell you before the tour.

Do I need special equipment?

Usually not.

Specialist activities such as diving, snorkeling, sea scooters, water sports or adventure activities have their own equipment requirements. Equipment included by the provider is explained in the individual experience information.

Are your tours suitable for children?

Many are, but minimum ages differ between activities.

Some boat trips, water sports, diving activities and other specialist experiences have age, swimming or participation requirements set by the operator.

Tell us the ages of any children travelling with you and we can make sure the experience is appropriate.

Which beaches do you visit?

That depends on the tour, weather, location and what you would like from your beach stop.

On private tours we can often choose the beach around your preferences, whether you want calm water, scenery, snorkeling, restaurants or simply somewhere to relax.

Detailed payment, cancellation, privacy and legal information is available on our Legal & Booking Terms page.

Still have a question?
